Weekly Knowledge Cafe

Knowledge Cafe is a new program at the Hampton Senior Resource Center, that has a speaker and then participants can chat/socialize and enjoy a coffee.

Great way to meet some new people. The participants identify the topics they wish to know more about, and a speaker is selected. 11:00 AM every Friday and everyone is welcome.  

Friday, May 13th. 4 weeks of Healthy Aging and Wellness that focus on promoting health across the lifespan, with Occupational Therapist Lindsay Hall OT Reg (NB) Each session will provide an overview of the topic, examples of how to make change and how to set small, manageable goals to improve overall health and stick with it! There will also be open discussion at the end and each session will be interactive. Sponsored by the Town of Hampton with funding from Province of New Brunswick

Friday, May 13th. Let’s Get Active- Did you know that light physical activity for 15 minutes as day can increased life expectancy by 3 years? We’ll discuss ways to increase physical activity and Lindsay will lead a short movement session. 

Friday, May 20th. Let’s Stay Safe: Making small changes at home can make life so much easier. Hands-on session with health equipment demonstration.

Friday, May 27th. Let’s Train our Brains: Did you know that combined lifestyles factors, including challenging your brain with new learning, reduces dementia risks by up to 35%. We’ll talk about ways to challenge our brain and memory tips and tricks.  

Friday, June 3rd. Let’s Connect: Being socially active improves health and well-being. Did you know that loneliness can be as bad for your health as smoking? We’ll discuss ways to connect and talk about mental health and wellness. 

Friday, June 10th. Lower River Passage- Brian Fowler -The Lower River Passage encompasses the southern part of the placid and historic St. John River. Meandering 130 kilometers (80 miles) from the port city of Saint John up through rolling hills and pastoral landscapes to Fredericton, New Brunswick’s capital city, the Lower River Passage takes you on a journey in space and time.

Flea Market

Join us on June 4th as the Hampton Rotary Club hosts their flea market at our Center starting at 10:00am. Drop in and check out the great deals to be had!

Spring Fling Dance

Saturday, May 14th at 7:00pm we will be hosting a Spring Fling Dance.

Dust off those dancing shoes, it is time to swing into spring! Join us for an evening of great music and dancing.
